My Story

I am honored to be part of this endeavor and excited to work collaboratively with partners to identify and deliver enhancements to the astounding work of teachers, administrators, certificated staff, school counselors/social workers and more. I earned bachelor degrees in Psychology and Women's Studies and began working with victims of violence right after college. I then returned to school to earn a Master's degree in Higher Education and focused on behavior modification programs for young adults, creating codes of conduct, and doing conflict resolution in college settings with students. Life can have many twists and turns and I found myself in California with a career in Child Protective Services for over twelve years. After I left direct practice work, I found I could not really turn away from the work I loved and began consulting on cases with several counties, coaching social workers and supervisors and teaching professional development workshops. I gained experience working as a school counselor for a rural k-8 school and served as a board trustee for a pre-k through 8th grade school district. Blending my background of social work, teaching, coaching and mentoring made for a perfect platform when my husband and I began discussing our specialist experiences and career passions. I returned to school and earned my Master of Social Work degree and am currently working toward my goal of becoming an LCSW to provide a nuanced lens into considering the needs of our unique clientele.
